Two Year #TBT

Two years ago this picture was taken shortly after we ran our very first class at Arena Ready.  Much of the equipment wasn't even unpacked yet, having just arrived earlier that day:
A few hours before the scene pictured above it looked like this (holy s*%t I almost forgot about this picture):
The freight delivery of our equipment had been delayed by over a week, so the time we had allotted for setting up an initial "working" gym went from 10 days to about 3 hours.  I was still working for the man at my beloved corporate office job that day, with no way of getting over to AR to help with the unloading, unpacking, moving, or assembling.  It was Sarah (and Bo), a lot of panic hustle, and a reserve of Sarah's functional fitness that was left to do all the work.  To put it in perspective, those floor mats stacked in piles on the left weigh about 100 pounds EACH, and the total weight of the equipment on the palettes near the back was approximately 20,000 pounds.  The first thing the delivery guy asked Sarah when he arrived was, "where's your fork lift, lady?"

I can only imagine the dude's FML face when Sarah, standing in front of him, replied, "well, we're a gym not a receiving warehouse... so you're looking at it."

I still laugh when I think about that poor guy's day - spending hours at a (not yet) gym bouncing between conflicting modes of not wanting to be out-lifted by some woman on his own delivery truck yet simultaneously not wanting to be working anywhere near that hard.  At one point Sarah was worried he was going to pass out.

I won't post a #tbt picture of Sarah after the fiasco because I'd still like to be married when she returns from the CrossFit HQ Seminar Staff Summit today. 

Discretion is the better part of valor.
