Test Positive For Awesome

by Rob on October 1st, 2014

Not to worry gym snackers!  Fuel for Fire, Perfect Bars, and Nick's Sticks are all on order and will be back in full stock soon.  Some of you seemed worried, heh.

You may notice we have a new addition to the drinks & snacks assortment at Arena Ready - Kill Cliff.  Kill Cliff, an official sponsor of the CrossFit Games, is a recovery drink many top CF athletes swear by.  We'll let you guys and gals be the judge - we're going to stock it in 3 flavors and see if folks like it.  If you do we'll keep ordering it... personally I like the pomegranate-watermelon flavor as it's the least sweet of the bunch.  The pomegranate-watermelon ("Double Awesomeness") and lemon-lime ("Force Field") flavors are both approved on the Lurong Living Paleo Challenge because they're sweetened with Stevia.  Apparently cavemen in the paleolithic age had something against blood orange flavors and sucralose ("Tasty").

I'm kidding.

(yes, that's their offical slogan... gotta love a brand with a sense of humor)
And before you ask me in class, yes Thursday's WOD is supposed to be spelled "Peranormal" after the celebrity programmer, Jon Pera.  And yes, the Lurong website spells it "Paranormal" in some places.  And yes, it drives me crazy because I have problems.

WOD for 10-02-14:

"2014 Lurong Living Paleo Challenge WOD #4 - Peranormal"
In 3 Minute Blocks of 2 Rounds per Block:

0:00 - 3:00 = 2 Rounds of:
9 Thrusters @ 95/75 lbs
27 Double Unders

3:00 - 6:00 = 2 Rounds of:
11 Thrusters @ 95/75 lbs
33 Double Unders

6:00 - 9:00 = 2 Rounds of:
13 Thrusters @ 95/75 lbs
39 Double Unders

Etc... until you cannot complete 2 rounds within the 3 minute block.

This workout will be in 3 minute blocks of 2 rounds per block. If you complete the 2 rounds you will get another 3 minutes of Thrusters and Double/Single Unders (depending on level). Each repetition of Thrusters and each Double/Single Under is worth 1 rep.
