Functional Movement Screens

Attention AR Members-
Now that our January challenges are drawing to a close, Coach Alyssa is offering a limited number of opportunities to participate in a Functional Movement Systems (FMS) screen to help identify potential flaws your movement patterns and introduce ways to help improve them.  This is free for Arena Ready members so take advantage of this helpful process!

For those unfamiliar with the screen, check out the info below from Coach Alyssa.  For those who have already screened, she's offering an opportunity to follow up, check for progress and pursue next steps.

If you're a new member at Arena Ready, and joined during our last on-boarding wave in January, watch your email inbox early next week for an invitation to FMS screenings tailored specifically to our newcomers.

Functional Movement Systems (FMS) is a company with a mission to help people move better and then move often. The philosophy was introduced in 1995, at a time when there was no systematic tool to identify movement asymmetries or major limitations in functional movement patterns.

The FMS approach takes a look at patterns and how to create efficient and effective movement through the use of a functional movement screen.

The functional movement screen is used as an entry point to determine where we need to go based off the information we receive.

What you need to know about the functional movement screen:
  • 5 athletes maximum per group session/screen
  • 7 movements
  • Wear workout clothes and shoes
  • Receive corrective exercise(s) to help you move better
If you're interested please sign-in (just as you would for class) for one of the next two FMS group screenings.  First come first serve!
