FMS, Open Gym, and Yoga... Oh My!

Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Screening
Coach Alyssa has added FMS Screenings this Saturday, June 20th at 10:15am, and Monday, June 22nd at 1:15pm (both are limited to 3 athletes).  Some of you are already familiar with the FMS screen, but if not please scroll down for more info on this helpful process!

Sunday Open Gym
Based on feedback we've received regarding Sunday Open Gym we have shifted the class times an hour earlier.  Open Gym class hours now start at 9am and 10am beginning this Sunday, June 21st.  As always, please be sure to sign-up for Open Gym if you plan on attending, and cancel your reservation ASAP if you realize you no longer can attend.

Sunday Yoga
Similarly, we have pushed Sunday Yoga class one hour earlier to allow more folks to attend on a regular basis.  Yoga class now starts at 10am beginning this Sunday, June 21st.

FMS Sreening: More Info...
Coach Alyssa's Functional Movement Systems (FMS) screen helps to identify potential flaws your movement patterns and introduces ways to help improve them.  This is free for Arena Ready members so take advantage of this helpful process!

For those unfamiliar with the screen, check out the info below from Alyssa.  For those who have already screened, she's offering an opportunity to follow up, check for progress and pursue next steps.

Functional Movement Systems (FMS) is a company with a mission to help people move better and then move often. The philosophy was introduced in 1995, at a time when there was no systematic tool to identify movement asymmetries or major limitations in functional movement patterns.

The FMS approach takes a look at patterns and how to create efficient and effective movement through the use of a functional movement screen.

The functional movement screen is used as an entry point to determine where we need to go based off the information we receive.

What you need to know about the functional movement screen:
  • 3 athletes maximum per group session/screen
  • 7 movements
  • Wear workout clothes and shoes
  • Receive corrective exercise(s) to help you move better
