The CrossFit Liftoff

by Arena Ready on October 13th, 2015

From November 5th - 9th CrossFit will run a worldwide competition (similar in some ways to the Open) called "The CrossFit Liftoff."  Three events will be tested - a snatch max, a clean & jerk max, and a CrossFit met-con workout - and athletes of all levels, ages, and backgrounds will participate to have some fun, cheer for their friends, and set some new PRs at their gym.  Some of the top guns will even compete for some cash and prizes!

We'll be hosting our athletes who want to participate and compete in the Liftoff at Arena Ready, and we encourage just about everyone who's interested to think about doing it - it's like running a 5K... most people who enter don't expect to win, but that doesn't stop them from training for it, having fun with it, and maybe surprising themselves a bit along with their friends and fellow athletes.

More details to come in the next few weeks, but for now here's the basic rundown courtesy of the folks at the CrossFit Games Update Show:
Interesting tidbit, the "2010 CrossFit/USAW Open" they mention starting at 1:50 in the video was actually won by Coach Sarah (in the women's 75kg class).  So fun to see some of the old footage from that event, including a snatch by former Olympian Chad Vaughn!
