Infarkle I Do's & Mighty Mini PRs

by Arena Ready on October 25th, 2015

Congratulations to two of our coaches, and a couple of amazing people, Lindsay and Jon (or "Sparkle" and "Inferno" as they're otherwise known) on their nuptials this past Friday.  We wish you a lifetime of happiness and PRs together!

Congratulations also to a couple of our resident Mighty Minis, Kate "The Flying Squirrel" and Lisa "Mini Rex" for their performances at the PWA's 52nd Annual Don Wilson Golden West Open on Sunday.

The Squirrel made a big PR competition total at 124kg, pulling off a clutch clean & jerk on her third and final attempt after missing her first two C&J lifts.  It solidified her a total that would have qualified her for the American Open Championships for a second consecutive year in the 48kg class, although she has wisely chosen to spend her time getting stronger in the 53kg class.  Congrats on the huge PR total, Squirrel!
Not an actual picture from the competition.  You'd think a pattern was developing here, but just you wait.
Mini Rex had her strongest meet showing yet in the 48kg class, going 3 for 3 in the snatch like it was no big deal, and then setting a competition PR total of 121kg after making her first clean & jerk attempt. She was a hair shy (just 2kg) of the qualifying total for the 2015 American Open Championships.  We're so incredibly proud of her tenacity, dedication, and effort, and can't express how inspiring it is to watch her put it all on the line.  Well done, Lisa!
A picture from the actual competition.  Hooray!
