Congrats NorCal Masters!

Kim and Gary did a great job representing Arena Ready over the weekend at the NorCal Masters 2016 Championship.  They completed 6 workouts over the course of two days, and both showed grit and determination, with a good mix of fun and strategy mixed in.  I was super proud to see how far each has come over the past year both in terms of physical skills and mental toughness.  They've each done a great job of working within their professional and personal constraints to show up day after day, week after week, to improve their strengths and reduce their weaknesses.  In Kim's case particularly, it was really cool to see her catching the attention of legit Games-level athletes - even winning an event outright!

I could wax on for many paragraphs about things I loved about watching the competition - the venue, the atmosphere, the depth of talent in each age group, and the community as a whole, but I feel like I've done that in years past, so I'll suffice it to say I love that we get to be a part of this community - both at Arena Ready and in the broader CrossFit world.  This is a really special group of people.

Highlights from the weekend included 165# deadlifts in a workout, rowing harder than I ever have before, so many dumbbell thrusters, starting the darn bike accidentally pedaling backwards, getting bear hugs from the eventual winner of my age group, Diane, being coached by the best of the best, Sarah Hopping Estrella, having Kathy there to support me, watching my teammate Gary, crush it, having so many of my Arena Ready family there to root us on! Seeing old friends, heroes, making new friends, scratching my way to 7th place overall in a division with so many Games athletes and just overall great women! Wow! I'm out of breath, and sorry I let out that Tim Lincecum F' bomb when I finished that chipper with one second to spare but Rob, you would've been proud! Thank you all for your encouragement, I'm having the time of my life!
